Dogra Higher Secondary School Celebrates World Health Day 2026 with Comprehensive Wellness Program

Event Description
Dogra Higher Secondary School (DHSS), Shastri Nagar, Jammu, observed World Health Day 2026 with a full-day program of health-focused events.
The initiative reinforced the proverb "Health is Wealth," engaging students in educational and practical wellness activities to promote lifelong healthy habits.
The day began with a special morning assembly highlighting the critical importance of health in academic and personal success, setting an inspiring tone for all events. Students across grades participated in a health awareness quiz covering nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care.
Yoga Session: A guided session emphasized flexibility, stress management, and mindfulness through traditional yoga practices.
Poster Making Competition: Creative students designed posters on health themes, fostering awareness of scientific and holistic wellness.
The Principal Major Bhawna Devi ,Retd delivered a motivational address on "Health is Wealth," linking physical fitness to achievement and advised students maintain good health ,follow disciplined life ,eat healthy food ,exercise daily.
Medical Checkup Camp
The highlight was a free medical checkup camp inaugurated by Managing Director Shri Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.It was organised by Govt Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu under the ages of Director Ayush,J & K screenings of students, with medical checkup, medicines distributed to those in need.
These events engaged over 500 students and staff, underscoring DHSS's leadership in holistic education and community health in Jammu.
