DOGRA HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL HOLDS INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2026-27 WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM


Event Description

The ceremony began with the offering of floral tributes to the Founder and Chairman of DHSS, Thakur
Gulchain Singh Charak, who also served as a Political Leader and former President of Dogra Sadar Sabha.
The dignitaries paid their respects to the revered founder and guiding force behind the institution before
participating in the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge,
wisdom, and enlightenment.
The event was graced by Dr. SamarDev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, as the Chief
Guest. Mrs. Ruchi Charak, Director, Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, and Dogra Higher Secondary
School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, attended the function as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Abhijay Singh Charak, a
budding lawyer pursuing his legal studies at Gujarat National Law University, was present as the Special
Guest.
The Principal of the school, Major Bhawna Devi, Retd. Welcomed the gathering and highlighted the
significance of leadership and character-building in shaping responsible citizens of tomorrow. The
students then presented a meaningful group song, “Nasha Mukta Bharat,” conveying a strong message
against substance abuse and promoting a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
The most significant segment of the programme was the Badge Giving Ceremony, during which Dr.
SamarDev Singh Charak formally conferred badges upon the newly elected members of the Student
Council. The young leaders thereafter took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the values, traditions,
and ideals of the institution while carrying out their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and
integrity.
The audience was then enthralled by a vibrant Dogri Folk Dance presented by the students, showcasing
the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Dogras.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Ruchi Charak, Director Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana and Dogra
Higher Secondary School congratulated the newly elected council members and spoke extensively about
the remarkable achievements of Dogra Higher Secondary School in academics, sports, cultural activities,
and co-curricular domains. She appreciated the collective efforts of the management, staff, students, and
parents in bringing laurels to the institution and encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence
in all spheres of life.
Our Honourable Chief Guest Dr. SamarDev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust motivated
the students to become achievers and leaders of character. He emphasized that success is not determined
by the absence of failures but by the ability to learn from one's mistakes and shortcomings. He urged the
students to identify their flaws, work diligently to overcome them, and never make excuses for their
failures. Instead, they should take responsibility for their actions and continuously strive for self-
improvement. He encouraged them to cultivate discipline, perseverance, honesty, and resilience,
reminding them that every challenge presents an opportunity for growth and achievement.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Ganesh Das Gupta,
Headmaster of the school. He expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Special

Guest, members of the management, staff, students, parents, and all those who contributed to the success
of the event.
The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by refreshments.
